He repeatedly made what I considered to be <br />insensitive jokes which I'm sure the carnivorous majority thought <br />was funny. I found the irony particularly thick when the turkey <br />pardoning story was followed immediately by two related (in my view) <br />news stories: 1) Obama's participation in an upcoming climate change <br />summit and his deep commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions; <br />and 2) the grave and alarming finding that male bass fish in many <br />rivers are showing female characteristics due to hormones being <br />dumped in the water. Of course, we all know runoff from pig farms and <br />other livestock operations are likely contributing if not outright <br />causing this mess, but the public scratches its collective head all <br />the while preparing to gorge (for a full month) on the very foods <br />which are responsible for this aberration.<br /><br />Esta Lewin<br />South Lake Tahoe, CAEsta Lewinnoreply@blogger.com
